NEWS SUMMARY WEEK 52

Major sponsor renews backing
Trade union 'Kristelig Fagbevæglese', one of the Randers FC's Diamond sponsors, has renewed its sponsorship for a further three year period commencing 1 July 2010.

The union's Marketing Manager Peder van der Scahft commented:

"We are not renewing our sponsorship with Randers FC on philanthropic grounds. When we enter into a sponsorship, we look for maximum value for money, regardless of its size. Our sponsorship with Randers FC gives us good visibility at Essex Park and on TV, promoting the message that we are a good choice. But even so, we do naturally feel an emotional bond with those we sponsor and we want to see Randers FC back on top again!"

Kristelig Fagbevæglese is a national trade union with its headquarters in Randers, and first became a sponsor for Randers FC in 2007.

Extra training in winter break
After a miserable autumn season, the disruption caused by the resultant change of trainer and a league position almost diametrically opposite that at the end of the 2008/9 season, extra training sessions have been ordered by trainer Ove Christiansen during the winter break. The aim is to ensure that the team he fields for the first match of the season against Esbjerg will be in top physical condition - and will stay that way for the rest of the season. Tactics will also be practiced and honed for a campaign that demands at least 25 points for league survival. In addition, no less than six training matches have been organised as a warm-up to the real thing in March.

Local boy extends contract
Long-serving right back Søren Pedersen has renewed his contract with Randers FC by a further 2 years.

The 31 year-old local boy commented: "I am deligthed to extend my contract with the club - a club I still see a fantastic future for. League survival is going to be tough, but even if we do get relegated, I intend to stick with the club and play my part to ensure a speedy return."

Pedersen has spent almost his entire football career in Randers, playing for the local clubs which eventually banded together to form Randers FC, apart from a four year spell with AGF. His consistency has meant that so far, he has played 153 first team games, only 20 short of the club record.
