OVE CHRISTENSEN JOINS RANDERS FC

Randers FC appoint new Head Trainer

In the wake of the departure of John Faxe Jensen yesterday, Randers FC moved swiftly to appoint 59 year-old Ove Christensen as replacement with immediate effect, with a contract for the rest of the 2009/2010 season.

Ove Christensen relishes the challenge of joining Randers FC and says:

"I am looking forward to getting to work. The success criterion the club have set is survival in the SAS League, which will be hard but not impossible. I already know the team pretty well and look forward to working with the players to ensure that Randers FC will play SAS League football next season."

Randers FC Director Jacob Nielsen commented:

"Ove has been hired with a common goal - finishing the season in 10th place or above and thus avoiding relegation. Ove was our first choice and the board and management were unanimous in their agreement that it should be him. Ove bings vast experience from his career including from both ends of the table, and we are convinced he is the best qualified to secure our survival in the SAS League".

Christensen has held the trainer's post at Viborg FF, AGF, AB and Vejle. His tally of over 300 matches means he holds the record for the most matches as trainer for teams in the Danish top flight.

Peter Elstrup moves up to become Assistant Trainer to Christensen and Stephen Paddon stays on as goalkeeper trainer. Elstrup has been the successful trainer of Randers FC's 2nd division team, a post now taken over by his former assistant Michael Winther.
