JOHN FAXE LEAVES RANDERS FC
Head Trainer John Faxe to leave Randers FC
Randers FC is to part company with Head Trainer John Faxe Jensen and his team of Assistant Trainers Flemming Povlsen and Henrik Larsen, plus Physical Trainer Kenn Samuelsen, with immediate effect.
Randers FC Director Jacob Nielsen commented on the situation as follows:
"It is not without regret that we have parted company with John Faxe and his team today. But we felt compelled to act given the disappointing start we have had to the season in the SAS League. I want to take this opportunity to thank Faxe and his team for their contribution to Randers FC and wish them all the best in the future."
John Faxe also issued a statement:
"I understand and accept the decision Randers FC has arrived at. As Head Trainer, I more than anyone am responsible for the results of the first team. But I am also sad about the decision, as I have been very happy here. Over the last few months, I have thought every single day about why we have only managed to harvest two points out of eleven matches - not because I want to find excuses, but I want to find causes, and correct them. Even though I and my team have discussed the reasons with the board and worked hard to try and change things, we have not succeeded in improving our league placing. Due to last year's success, when the club achieved its highest ever league placing, there were high expectations, which we all viewed as inspiring and challenging. The results in the UEFA Europe League only encouraged us to believe that our expectations were realistic, but instead, we face a fight to avoid relegation. Not only do I believe that Randers FC will win it, but I want the club to do so with all my heart for everyone with the same warm feelings for the club as I have had, and continue to have."
Randers FC will present a new trainer for its SAS League team tomorrow.
