Top talent manager extends contract
After a stint of five years as youth trainer and talent manager, Peter Elstrup has signed a new 5 year contract with Randers FC. such a long period is unusual in the world of professional football, but neither club nor trainer had any doubts.

Progress in Ekstra Bladet Cup
Randers FC beat Vejen SF 9-0 in their latest qualification match in the Ekstra Bladet Cup and progress to the last 16, where they meet high-flying OB at home on 28 October. OB are currently number 2 in the SAS League and represent tough opposition given Randers FC's current lack of form.
Two league defeats and a draw
Randers FC lost at home to Aab and away to FC København before halting the slide with a hard-fought draw against HB Købe on Sunday. The match took place in a festive atmosphere after the club thanked fans for their loyalty through good times and bad with free entry. Over 10,000 took up the offer and turned out to cheer the team on to a much-needed point.
Next opponents in top form
Randers FC's next opponents - in a home match on 4 October - are Silkeborg IF who gave the resurgent Brøndby team a sharp lesson on Sunday, with a 4-1 drubbing. The result belies Silkeborg's mid-table placing and sounds a warning for a Randers team still trying to find its feet.
Despite poor results in the SAS League, Randers FC's Trainer John Faxe's future is secure. A board meeting held after the 1-1 home draw with HB Købe unanimously decided that Faxe remains in place, with his next objective the match against in-form Silkeborg IF on Sunday, 4 October.
