Randers FC on the way in Europe
A 4-0 win over 48-times Northern Ireland champions Linfield FC saw Randers FC over their first hurdle in the Europa League campaign. Next stop is the return leg in Belfast on 9 July.

Club goals set out
Ambitious short- and long-term goals have been set for the club by the board and published in the form of a press release sent out on 3 July:

Short-term:
- Randers FC will achieve fifth place in the SAS league as a minium
- Randers FC will reach the 3rd qualification round of the UEFA Europa League
- Randers FC will reach the quarter finals of the Ekstra Bladet Cup (which the club won in 2006)

Long-term
- Randers FC will be amongst the medals in the SAS League by no later than ther 2011/12 season

On the ambitious goals, Club Director Jacob Nielsen had the following to say:
"They are ambitions, but realistic. Since the club was founded in 2003, we have enjoyed constant progress. We want to continue in the same vein which is why we have defined these goals which may seem ambitious, but which we feel we can realise given our track record so far!

"We reached fifth place last season - our best yet - and we want to do at least the same in the coming season. We got a good opening draw in the Europa League and we believe we can get through the first two rounds. What happens after that we dare not predict, as that's when you start to come up against the big boys, such as AS Roma, PSV Eindhoven, Hamburg SV and of course our opponents from our last foray into Europe, Fenerbahce.

"And when it comes to the other domestic campaign, we aim to at least reach the quarter finals of the Ekstra Bladet Cup - as we have the last two years - and of course want to win it as we did in 2006!

The Yanks are coming!
21 year-old striker Yuri Movsisyan has signed for Randers FC on a 3 year contract from US Major League club Real Salt Lake. He has played a total of 71 matches in top-flight American soccer and scored 15 goals.

John Faxe said of his new singing:
"This is a lad with the right qualities to become a truly exciting player for Randers FC and Danish football in general. He is an all-round player - good with both feet, fast and has shown in recent performances in the MLS that he can score goals. He's just what we've been looking for, young, fast, flexible and got a nose for goals."
